Clinic is situated in a specially designed building for its needs. It was constructed according to current standards required for highly specialized treatment of seriously ill children and to improve conditions of doctors’ and parents’ care for them. The designers, in cooperation with the talented students of the Painting Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, they created setting of an unique colour world of fairy tales, which supports the treatment and recovery by young patients, according to Jolanta Kwaśniewska’s words: “in the color it hurts less.”
In the clinic, there are 37 beds, out-patients departments, and laboratories: hematology, microscopic, ultrasound diagnostic and ECG. Spacious lobbies and lounges are equipped with lockers and computers, as well as an accommodation for parents. The mobility of the clinic and the use of cache kitchen create the atmosphere for children which can be substitute of home. They also improve time they spend in hospital.
The clinic construction was supported by the largest amounts of money given by so-called „Gold Sponsors”: Polpharma S.A., Polkomtel S.A., Petrobaltic Sp. z o.o., PKN Orlen S.A., Prokom Software S.A, Foundation "Warta", Polish Telecom S.A i PKO BP S.A. The subsidy granted by Minister of Health given to the Medical University in Gdansk was 1.411.000 zł. Medical University financed, from its own resources, the implementation of the technical infrastructure of the area on the amount of 300.000,00 zł.
