International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) was established in 1998 in order to create and coordinate a global network of organizations working for missing children and fighting with sexual exploitation of minors. ICMEC, inter alia:
• creates a global platform for exploration of missing children and prevents their sexual exploitation,
• establishes national centers, working together internationally,
• creates an international network for exchanging information and photos of missing children,
• organizes trainings for police officers, prosecutors, judges and governmental and non-governmental organizations,
• helps to make changes in the national and international laws.
"Communication without Barriers" Foundation cooperates with ICMEC, and a President of the Foundation, Jolanta Kwasniewska, was a member of the Council of Honour of ICMEC to June 2008.
