Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement is a non-governmental organization established in 2003. This is the first such NGO in the Middle East, designed to harness energy and creativity of the society in order to achieve the vision of peace, a vision, which is based on the idea of human solidarity, mutual understanding and tolerance.
Suzanne Mubarak Women’s International Peace Movement:
• strengthens the role of women in building peace,
• builds partnerships, mainly through cooperation with various sectors of society,
• develops and enhances skills and abilities of women and youth as active and effective peace activists,
• raises awareness and promotes the idea of peace,
• strengthens the dialogue, creates a platform for communication and exchange of information between organizations and individuals working for peace, justice and security,
• works to promote and protect human rights and the elimination of violence against women and children,
• supports the global efforts for peace, reconciliation and reconstruction.
A President of the Foundation, Jolanta Kwasniewska, is a member of the Board of Directors SMWIPM since June 2007.
